The Berlinische Galerie
Berlin
Open since 2004, this museum is relatively new within Berlin's collection of art galleries and museums. It holds many beautiful paintings, sculptures graphics and other fine art pieces as well as photography, architecture and archives, all available to the general public.
The Berlinische Galerie also offers a library service. Here you will find about 70,00 volumes on modern art, photography and architecture of the 20th century. The museum shop of course sells museum catalogues and other publications and on the plus side there is also a café to rest in when you need a break.
You are welcome to take a free Curator's tour every Monday at 2pm, free guided tours on Saturday and Sunday's at 3pm and group tours by arrangement and fee for up to 20 people. All of these tours are in German but please ask the museum if you are interested in tours in English, French or Italian.
Tip: Usually a day ticket to the museum is €10 but every 1st Monday of the month its only €6!
