Located on Karl-Marx-Allee in Friedrichshain, just 5 minutes from Alexanderplatz, this is the perfect museum for anyone who has ever picked up a joystick, mouse, keyboard or handheld console. The computer game museum features more than 300 exhibits and includes a mixture of playable items, historical hardware and game art.
Among the collection are historical items such as Nimrod, the first ever computer game from 1951 to classics such as Pong, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong.
This is the ideal museum for people of all ages: Those of us that remember playing Pacman at the arcade can reminisce about the good old days, and those a little shorter in the tooth can witness the rapid evolution of the technology that led to the amazing games technology we have today.
This museum is easy to walk around yourself, they do have tours but the public tours are only held in German. However, you feel you need more information that walking the museum yourself, can book a private tour in English for large groups.
