Description

On the tour, Prussian and German history can be experienced in original locations. At every turn, we encounter urban splendor and political power. We discover what connects the Brandenburg Gate to the Acropolis and how Napoleon and the National Socialists used it for their own purposes. We learn what the Gendarmenmarkt has to do with tolerance, look at buildings and events at today's Bebelplatz, take a look at Karl Friedrich Schinkel's Neue Wache, and learn in front of the newly built palace how the emergence of industrial enterprises in the 19th century ushered in the end of the absolute monarchy in Prussia. In a very confined space, a picture of historical and present-day Berlin emerges.
