The Gemäldegalerie is home to paintings from Berlin State Museums, and includes works from artists as diverse as Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach, Hans Holbein, Rogier van der Weyden, Jan van Eyck, Raphael, Titian, Caravaggio, Peter Paul Rubens, Rembrandt and Johannes Vermeer.
It is regarded as one of the most comprehensive collections in the world, with each room in the museum being dedicated to a certain period or style, taking visitors on a journey through the progression of European art as they walk.
The entrance fee is €10, with discounts available for buying online. There is a a shop selling books and memorabilia, as well as a small café for a rest and a hot beverage after you've walked through the museum.
