Galeries Lafayette
Berlin
Located on the major shopping strip Friedrichstraße in the heart of the Berlin Mitte, the beautiful glass Galeries Lafayette building stands out amongst the smaller shops and centres dwarfed by its size and grandeur.
A French shopping initiative, set up after German reunification, this shopping centre was opened in 1996 after architect Jean Nouvel designed and built a stunning glass façade and an interior where everything centres around a large cone - reminiscent of, or in tribute to the famous Paris shopping centre, Boulevard Haussmann.
On 4 floors you'll find an exclusive range of French and International products, but the gourmet floor is where the action is. Filled to the brim with quality products, it is especially French and especially decadent.
Keep an eye on the website for listing of their regular events like champagne and whisky seminars, fashion shows and themed nights for Christmas and NYE celebrations.
