Description
Established in the 1860s as one of Berlin’s first villa colonies, Lichterfelde was created to offer wealthy Berliners countryside villas outside the city gates. The project was inspired by the Marienthal villa colony near Hamburg and led by entrepreneur Johann Anton Wilhelm von Carstenn. The neighborhood maintains its historic charm with quiet, tree-lined cobblestone streets and stately houses in various architectural styles.
The tour covers the most notable villas along both sides of Drakestraße, showcasing the area’s unique character and heritage.
