Description
The tour begins at 11:00 AM with passage through Malchow’s swing bridge. After a short stop at the rehabilitation clinic, the cruise proceeds to Untergöhren pier on Fleesensee lake, a well-known part of the Mecklenburg Lake District.
Following boarding of any additional passengers, the ship departs and offers views of maintained vacation homes, promenades, and dense tree lines. Wildlife such as gray herons and great crested grebes may be observed, along with fish visible beneath the water’s surface, indicating a rich ecosystem.
The cruise continues through a natural passage from Fleesensee to Lake Kölpinsee, bordered by reed beds home to coots, mallards, and occasionally kingfishers.
From Lake Kölpinsee, the boat travels along the Eldenburg Canal beneath the B 192 federal highway, reaching the Inner Müritz. A detour takes you across the Außenmüritz to Klink Castle, a 19th-century structure styled after the French Loire castles, currently operating as a hotel with a restaurant.
Next, the ship arrives at Waren Müritz on Germany’s largest inland lake fully within its borders. Docking occurs at the stone jetty near the town center.
The historic old town is within walking distance, featuring a promenade with cafes, boutiques, and fish stalls. Visitors can explore the Müritzeum, an interactive nature center with a large freshwater aquarium and exhibits on regional flora and fauna. Alternatively, guests may enjoy a walk through the spa park, visit St. George's Church, or browse the new market area with its colorful facades.
After a two-hour stop, the cruise returns via Binnenmüritz, Kölpinsee, and quieter waters of Fleesensee and Malchower See. The return passage through the swing bridge is scheduled for 5:00 PM, concluding at Pier 1 in Malchow.
