Some say that the doorman at Berghain looks into your soul before deciding whether to let you in. Berghain is certainly not everyone's cup of tea, and plenty don't survive the long wait; it can be unbearably long (especially if it's cold!), but for those who are lucky enough to be granted entry, almost everyone agrees: a night at Berghain is a life-changer.
Berghain is named for the two suburbs it borders: Kreuzberg to the west and Friedrichshain to the east. Here you can expect excellent purist techno music, stunning views, and space for around 1500 guests. There's a massive and somewhat imposing main hall and a dance floor elevated 18 metres high. Dubbed the world's capital club for techno, this place is world-renowned. You can't come to Berlin without at least trying to get in.
