Marheinekeplatz Trödelmarkt

Berlin

Flea Markets Second Hand

Trödel in German means junk or jumble, but it's sometimes used here as a substitute for flohmarkt, the word flea market,.....which can sometimes mean the same thing. Either way you'll be visiting a market that is mainly filled with other people's old stuff.

This Kreuzberg market runs on both Saturday and Sunday and it's a nice way to spend an hour or so browsing and rummaging through the second hand things people are selling without the crowd or the hype of the larger markets in town.

Naturally there will be more stalls there in the summer than winter and even though its small you'll find a mix of private small sellers as well as retailers. The kids can enjoy the small playground next to  the market and there are plenty of cafes around to stop off for a coffee.
