NaNum, located at Lindenstraße 90 in Berlin's vibrant Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district, offers a distinctive dining experience that blends Korean culinary traditions with contemporary innovations. This unique establishment is not just a restaurant but also an art space, showcasing the creative work of Jinok Kim in both the kitchen and the ceramics that complement their dishes. The interior exudes a sense of calm and creativity, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy thoughtful conversation.
The cuisine at NaNum is characterized by its focus on simplicity with a twist. Specializing in fermented foods, seaweed, and dry-aged fish, the menu offers a variety of vegan dishes with the optional inclusion of fish, while consciously excluding meat. Each dish is a testament to the ancient practices of Korean fermentation, reimagined to offer a fresh and innovative taste experience. This might be accompanied by a selection of natural wines or non-alcoholic specialties, crafted to enhance the flavors of the meal.
Sustainability and craftsmanship are at the core of NaNum's philosophy. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing ingredients responsibly, including produce from their own garden. They make their own tofu, noodles, and oils, ensuring that every element of the meal is crafted with care and intention. The combination of these efforts creates a culinary journey that challenges traditional dining norms, offering guests a chance to engage with food on a deeper level.
In addition to the exceptional cuisine, NaNum's setting offers more than just food. The venue doubles as a ceramics gallery where diners can admire passionate creations made in the on-site workshop. This adds an extra dimension to the dining experience, blending the art of ceramics with gastronomy in a manner that enhances the message carried by each meal. Upstairs, guests can explore the artist's studio and exhibition spaces, providing a glimpse into the creative process behind the ceramics.
NaNum is recommended for those seeking a dining experience that combines artistry with culinary exploration. It regularly updates its menu to reflect seasonal and thematic changes, always striving to offer something new to its patrons. Whether for a special evening or an introduction to unique flavors, NaNum offers an experience that transcends typical restaurant visits.

We chose the full plant and fish menu. Everything was delicious, many dishes with fermented elements, but delicate at the same time. The portions aren't large, but they are satisfying in the end. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Cozy and minimalist atmosphere.
