I have to say that we did wait for an hour for our starter seafood platter - which is too long… HOWEVER - the waiter/maître d‘ was so professional and kind that it completely compensated the long waiting. And once the food arrived - it was really, really good. The artichoke was delicious. The seafood and the meat too. And the sides were very delicious (string beans and spinach) He also recommended us a lovely white wine and let us taste another. Will be happy to come back!
I recently visited Torbar and. The food was very good — we had the Café de Paris, truffle eggs, caviar, and some cocktails. That said, the service was inconsistent. Some of the staff were lovely, but others came across as quite cold and unwelcoming. In particular, the floor manager felt very dry, and one of the waitresses seemed visibly irritated when we asked for something - she actually rolled her eyes at us. It’s a shame, because the food and overall ambiance set a strong tone for the evening. Restaurants really should remember that being warm and attentive adds far more to the experience than acting distant or overly aloof.
Great food, nice atmosphere, service a bit too pushy to refill drinks etc but overall good. Pricey as well.
Visited Torbar in Berlin and really loved the overall atmosphere. The place has a great vibe, and everything else was honestly very nice. The only small downside was the way we were welcomed, it didn’t feel as friendly as we expected. But aside from that, we had a really good experience.
We had a wonderful evening at Torbar. It’s a beautiful French restaurant located right in the center of Berlin, where a young, vibrant crowd meets a modern, stylish ambiance. The food is high-quality French cuisine—well-executed and delicious. They offer a solid wine list and their house Champagne is particularly tasty and worth a try. While the prices are on the higher side, the attentive service and the overall atmosphere make it worth it. Plus, if the weather is nice, the outdoor seating area is a fantastic spot to enjoy your meal. Highly recommended for a classy night out!
