We visited Zur Gerichtslaube during our time in Berlin and really enjoyed the experience. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic from beginning to end. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel very comfortable. A memorable dinner in Berlin and a restaurant I would gladly recommend.

This restaurant is definitely touristy and offers menus in multiple languages. As soon as we sat down, they asked, “Where are you from?”, which I found a bit odd — it might have been better to simply ask which language menu we needed. They offer a wide range of dishes, from salads to mains. The portions were generous. Personally, I wouldn’t go back, as I think there are better options for the price and for more authentic German food. That said, it’s centrally located and the food was decent overall.

The food was delicious, the place is beautiful, and the atmosphere is very cozy. The service was friendly and pleasant throughout most of the experience. At the beginning of the meal, I asked if they could warm up my toddler’s food. They kindly agreed, which I appreciated. However, things changed at the end when it was time to pay. The card machine automatically prompted for a tip. As tipping is optional and not something I’m used to, I chose not to leave one. Right after that, the staff member loudly stated that she would never warm up baby food for anyone again. She said it in English, clearly making sure I understood. I found this reaction quite rude and inappropriate. It’s unfortunate, because up until that moment, the experience had been very positive.

Really nice, authentic German food definitely worth trying. We had the beef soup, lamb and potato salad to start, which were all lovely, and then duck and chicken for the mains. Everything was really nice.
