rejazz-festival #7 – DAY 2 (Deutsch)

Programm DAY 2

Program DAY 2

First, the exceptional Dutch saxophonist Kika Sprangers presents her brand-new album: With a sound of rare, dark beauty, her top-tier quintet project river, river uses the concept of flow as a powerful metaphor for human life. Moving between deep silence and orchestral power, the music unfolds, at times gently meandering, at times in wild, captivating torrents.

In stark contrast, the Berlin-based project Y, centered around the often-masked US synthesist and SWR Jazz Prize winner Liz Kosack, unleashes an interdimensional sonic art. Their psychedelic excursion between space-jazz and free-rock’n’roll tears down the boundaries between analogue and digital music with raw energy. An absolutely borderline-genius mix of driving grooves and futuristic synthesizer explorations, recently celebrated by freiStil magazine with its highest rating of 5 stars!
