Great food and wonderful service! Our server, Alex, was delightful and made sure we had an exceptional meal. His recommendations were perfect! We were only in Berlin for one week and came back a second night to dine with Alex.
I saw a review on here that says that "foreign cards not accepted" They are accepted though. I've paid with a non-EU credit card without issue. Maybe it's an old sign.* (Possibly no foreign debit cards? I'm not sure) I also read a review that said they only take cash, this is also not the case.* As one person commented, I agree that they have some of the best German food that I've found in Berlin. I just wish that they had some Sauerbraten or Rouladen on the menu. Otherwise, it does get busy and service can be a bit slow at times, but relax, that's normal, plus it's a garden of beer and tasty food! Edit: April 5, 2026 The last several times that I've been back they have been consistently spectacular. The food, the service, the everything. Definitely one of my favorite places for a hearty meal. Tonight's was amazing, again. Thanks all!
Great food, friendly service (English), and fragrance-free. I ordered the Swabian steak as recommended by the waiter, and it was as tasty as he said it was. Spätzle went well with steak gravy, and the meat was perfectly seared. Both the dining area and the bathroom were fragrance-free unlike some other restaurants. This is an important point for me because fragrances can easily interfere with my sense of taste and smell to ruin the food experience.
Cozy German "Wirtshaus" with rustic German interior and classic dishes at fair prices. In the summer you can sit outside in the Biergarten.
