B-Flat
Acoustic Music and Jazz Club
The 'b-flat' was founded in 1995 by the two musicians Jannis Zoto and Thanassis Zoto and the actor André Hennecke. In collaboration with the architect Claudius Pratsch, a space has been created that places high demands on both the room design and the acoustics. After the first successful jazz concerts, Jörg Zieprig joined the team in 1997, quickly making a name for himself as a program designer. As a result, a concert or event is taking place every day. The 'b-flat' has since become an indispensable location for the live music scene in Berlin. Since there is no stylistic definition of jazz music, you can hear a variety of musicians in 'b-flat'. This keeps the program diverse and lively. Of course, at this point we also want to brag about 'big names', such as Mal Waldron, Randy Brecker, Joe Sample, Harry Connick Jr., Brad Mehldau, Aki Takase, Steve Lacy, Evan Parker, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Peter Kowald, Rigmor Gustafsson, Peter Brötzmann, Conny Bauer, Iasis ... and not least the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. But just as important, of course, is the presence of the entire Berlin jazz scene, with all its diversity and interestingness.
