Description

Your tour begins with pickup from your accommodation within the Berlin S-Bahn Ring at no extra cost. Airport pickup is available but the Welcome/Farewell Tour may suit better for that option. Wait for your guide's text before heading out, so you don't need to wait outside.

Travel in a luxurious SUV with leather seats and air conditioning. The higher seating position, especially in the rear, offers better views. While the tour is private and flexible, a recommended route covers Berlin’s key sites and history.

The narrative includes Berlin’s evolution from Prussian times to the post-World War II division into East and West sectors, contrasting capitalism and communism. You will hear about the destruction (up to 80 percent in the center), reconstruction, and the peaceful reunification in 1989. Since then, Berlin has expanded towards its former border zone, hosting government centers and vibrant cultural scenes from opera to nightlife.

This “Extended and Relaxed” tour allows for more photo stops and leisurely breaks. You can choose a café or beer stop or take a lunch break at a cozy restaurant in an original old building. The restaurant atmosphere resembles an old pub and offers German meals such as Schnitzel, as well as pizza or salad on request. You can also opt for a shorter break with a Berliner Currywurst (sausage in curry sauce).

The tour often starts at Potsdamer Platz, once part of the Berlin Wall’s death zone. This area was heavily destroyed and later redeveloped with modern architecture such as the Sony Center and Mercedes-Benz Quarter. From there, the route heads north past the ministerial gardens toward Brandenburg Gate.

Your guide will show the Holocaust Memorial featuring 2711 steles commemorating six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Brandenburg Gate itself was within East Berlin, originally part of the old city. Highlights from West and East Berlin are covered with short walking sections at main sites.
