If you are in Berlin for the holidays, come for a walk from the centre to the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas Market. Starting at the Brandenburger Gate, we will take you on a Christmas journey through the city centre, letting you know about the Christmas traditions in Germany, and how it was to spend the holidays on both sides of the wall. But today’s holiday mood in Berlin is breathtaking. This means getting warm and cosy with Glühwein (mulled wine), trying the local candied almonds, sinking your teeth into Lebkuchen (gingerbread), running your lips on chocolate-covered fruits, eating some Currywurst (a sausage served with a tomato and curry sauce that stems from the post-war period). Together, the lingering aroma of cinnamon and spices in the air will capture your senses and create a delightful ambience that could melt even the Grinch.
