Description
The tour departs Berlin for the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO-protected landscape about an hour south of the city. This region is characterized by the Spree River’s branching canals, dense forests, and traditional villages preserving centuries-old culture.
Arriving in Lübbenau, the gateway to the Spreewald, participants will board a traditional flat-bottom punt for a two-hour boat ride. An experienced boatman will navigate the calm waterways, sharing insights into the area's natural environment.
Midway, the boat stops at Lehde village where you have free time to explore independently or visit the Open-Air Museum of the Sorbian Village (optional, entrance fee not included). This museum highlights the history and customs of the Sorbian minority community residing here.
After returning by boat to Lübbenau, follow a 30-minute self-guided walking tour using an audio guide to learn about the town’s history. Additional free time allows you to explore further or have lunch at a local restaurant (not included).
