Description

Saturdays are for football. This is a full matchday experience, built the way I'd want it myself, a day spent exploring Berlin (and beyond) through the game. We start by meeting up before kickoff, with exact timing confirmed once the season's fixture schedule is released, typically six weeks ahead. From there, the day unfolds differently depending on the match: for a Hertha BSC game, we walk through Berlin together, tracing how football took shape here. East and West, past and present on the way to the Olympiastadion. For an Energie Cottbus game, we ride the train out to Brandenburg, using the journey to dig into the club's cult following and the region's own football story. Once we arrive, we take in the pre-match buzz, the atmosphere building around us before settling in to watch the match together. After the final whistle, we regroup over a drink to talk through what we just saw, share recommendations for where to go next, and on Cottbus days make the journey back to Berlin together. Along the way: transit, your match ticket, and a shared drink are all part of the day.
