Description
Experience an informative cycling tour along the Berlin Wall route, known as the Mauerweg. While little of the wall remains, important traces are visible between the former border control points at Bornholmer Straße and Checkpoint Charlie.
The tour starts at the Square of 9th November 1989, where the first East German citizens crossed the border. Learn about the origin of the cherry trees on Bornholmer Straße and see the original watchtower and the death strip.
Follow the ground markings of rabbits to Brandenburg Gate, then continue through it to the Tränenpalast ('Palace of Tears') on Friedrichstraße. Pass by Friedrichstadt Palace, Museum Island, the New Synagogue, and the Old Berlin Post Office along the route.
