Description
The tour begins at Alexanderplatz TV Tower and includes a 50-minute train ride to Sachsenhausen on Berlin’s northern outskirts. Sachsenhausen served as a model concentration camp during the Nazi regime and later as a Soviet gulag.
Throughout the visit, you will uncover the camp’s origins, prisoner conditions, and forced labor through survivor testimonies, photographs, and official documents. Sachsenhausen also administered all other Nazi camps, with over 200,000 prisoners passing through and at least 50,000 deaths recorded.
The site contains a museum and various exhibits that deepen understanding of the camp’s history. Key locations include the A Tower, the roll-call point, and Station Z, designed for systematic executions.
