Description
Step back to AD 129 in this temporary exhibition located within the Pergamonmuseum. Explore the ancient city of Pergamon, situated on the west coast of Asia Minor.
Experience new, reworked reconstructions of the city during the High Roman Empire under Emperor Hadrian (AD 117–138) through a 360-degree panorama by architect Yadegar Asisi, featuring 40 newly integrated scenes.
View up close about 80 key works from the Antikensammlung collection, including the largest section of the Telephos frieze from the Pergamon Altar. For a limited time, see the Altar in its original architectural context on the Acropolis.
The exhibition displays notable sculptures such as the Beautiful Head, the giant head of Herakles, portrait sculptures of the king, the Archaistic Dancer from the palace, the Prometheus group, and Athena with a cross-strapped shield.
This presentation combines archaeological research with modern artistic interpretation, making it accessible and educational for families.
