Description
The Kunstgewerbemuseum houses world-renowned examples of European craftsmanship and design. Its collection features ornate reliquaries made of gold and precious stones, exquisite glass and porcelain vases, finely embroidered dresses, detailed furniture, and significant works of modern industrial design.
The museum’s permanent and special exhibitions are displayed in two Berlin locations: the Kulturforum near Potsdamer Platz and Köpenick Castle, set on a peninsula in the Dahme River. At Köpenick Castle, you will find masterpieces of spatial art from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
The museum’s spacious exhibition rooms and open staircases are designed as a 'built landscape' that complements the neighboring Tiergarten park with its greenery.
