But before you immerse yourself in the Christmas world of Gendarmenmarkt, you will discover Berlin's festively illuminated historic center with your guide.
Your Christmas market tour begins at Hotel Adlon, right next to Brandenburg Gate. From here, the Sunset and Christmas Walk will take you across the magnificently illuminated boulevard Unter den Linden through the historical heart of the capital.
Discover the Neue Wache and Humboldt University, the rebuilt Berlin Palace with the Humboldt Forum, as well as Museum Island and Berlin Cathedral. Next, you'll continue to Bebelplatz with the State Opera and St. Hedwig's Cathedral. Your guide will link the famous landmarks with stories about Prussia, the Hohenzollerns, old Berlin and the capital's Christmas traditions.
With every step, you get closer to the highlight of the evening. The historic façades glow, the Christmas lights become more intense – and finally, the impressive backdrop of Gendarmenmarkt opens up before you.
Between the German Cathedral, the French Cathedral, and the Konzerthaus, the second part of your experience now begins: the WeihnachtsZauber (Christmas Magic) at Gendarmenmarkt.
The entrance fee is already included. Together with your guide, you will head to the Christmas market and discover select artisans, festively decorated stalls and the special atmosphere of this historic square. Depending on the day's program, music, choirs, dance, acrobatics and other live entertainment will add to the festive atmosphere.
Then it's time for a Christmas classic: Enjoy your included mulled wine in front of one of Berlin's most impressive backdrops. A non-alcoholic alternative is also available.
