Discover Berlin’s turbulent history at a relaxed pace by bike. Cycling allows quick travel between sites while giving time to absorb each location. The route features varied historical highlights, compelling stories, and unexpected perspectives.
The tour begins at Checkpoint Charlie, the former key border crossing between East and West Berlin, where you delve into the Cold War era.
Next, visit the Topography of Terror, a site dedicated to the history of National Socialism. Nearby is the former Führerbunker, once the Nazi regime’s command center but largely hidden today.
The tour continues to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, where the guide provides clear insights into the memorial’s history and meaning.
From there, cycle into Tiergarten, one of Berlin’s largest city parks, and take a 30-minute break to rest with a drink or snack.
After the break, ride to the Victory Column, a prominent Berlin landmark overlooking the city. Then pass Bellevue Palace, the Federal President’s official residence located on the Spree River.
