Step back to pre-war Berlin and follow the footsteps of Albert Einstein. Learn about his personal life, scientific breakthroughs, and escape from Nazi persecution.

The 2-hour walking tour begins at Brandenburg Gate and continues along Unter den Linden to the historic center. Stops include a popular Einstein-themed coffee shop, the Memorial to the Nazi Book Burning at Bebelplatz, Humboldt University where Einstein presented his field equations, and the New Synagogue, where Einstein played first violin in the Jewish orchestra.

The 3-hour tour offers an in-depth visit inside the New Synagogue - Centrum Judaicum, exploring Einstein’s Jewish roots amid the rise of the Nazi regime.

The 7-hour tour includes everything in the 3-hour option plus a round-trip train ticket to Potsdam. There, visit the Albert Einstein Science Park and the Einstein Tower (Einsteinturm), a modernist structure built to support Einstein’s theory of relativity. Additional sites in Potsdam may be included time permitting.

Important Information

• New Synagogue tickets include museum access; the dome is currently closed for viewing. The synagogue is closed on Saturdays and some public and Jewish holidays and may be substituted with extended Potsdam sightseeing on the 7-hour tour.
• The 7-hour option includes frequent round-trip trains between Berlin and Potsdam with itinerary adjustments as needed.
• The walk from Potsdam Train Station to the Albert Einstein Science Park is 10 minutes uphill; comfortable shoes are recommended. Bus access is possible but not included and not operational on weekends and public holidays.
