Description
Explore Berlin on a three-day private tour. See the city's highlights, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the Holocaust Memorial, and learn about the city's history and culture from your guide.
Day 1:
Your guide will pick you up at the airport, the train station, or any point in Berlin. Your guide will welcome you, inform you about your Berlin tours and the meeting times, give practical Berlin tips, and answer your questions. Depending on your arrival time in Berlin and your fitness after checking in at the hotel, you can have a 2.5- or 5-hour tour by vehicle, by walking, by public transport, or by the evening Berlin by Night program if you arrive late. (Berlin by night is also possible on the second day.)
Day 2:
Start the program around 10:30 and finish at 15:30 so you have time for yourself. Make the endpoint of the tour a museum or art gallery, a market or shopping centre, a place to have lunch, dinner, or a drink, or be brought back to the hotel. Take, for example, the starting point for a tour of Germany's tallest structure, the iconic TV Tower, located in the vibrant square of Alexanderplatz. Pass the Red Town Hall, Marien Church, and Neptune's Brunn, and arrive at the Museum Island.
Capture the Berlin Cathedral, the unfinished reconstruction of the City Palace, the Old Museum, the Old National Gallery, the Pergamon Museum, and the Bode Museum. See the reconstruction of the Palace of the Prussian Monarchy and Berlin's historic boulevard, Unter den Linden.
Just after the island, see the Forum Fridericianum, which consists of the State Opera, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, Humboldt University, the State Library, and the first Catholic Church in Berlin, St. Hedwig's Cathedral. Please arrive at the spectacular Gendarmenmarkt, where you will find the former Royal Concert Hall flanked by the German Dom on its south side and the French Dom its north side.
Next, stop at Checkpoint Charlie, one of the most famous border crossings of the Berlin Wall; along the former border strip, see original parts of the Berlin Wall and the site of the 'Topography of Terror,'
Right next to it is Martin-Gropius-Bau, where, among other things, exhibitions of the well-known Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the international exhibition David Bowie have taken place. In front of the Prussian Parliament.
See the square of Potsdamer Place, Europe's largest construction site—today.
Following the border strip, reach the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe,
Afterwards, the Brandenburg Gate. Then, leave the former eastern part of Berlin and enter the Memorial to the Murdered Sinti and Roma.
Day 3:
Start the program around 10:30 and finish at 15:30 so you have time for yourself. The endpoint of the tour should be a museum or art gallery, a market or shopping centre, a place to have lunch, dinner, a drink, or a place to be brought back to the hotel. The Government District comprises the Reichstag/Bundestag, Chancellery, and the Soviet Memorial.
