If you are coming to Azzam for the hummus, you absolutely cannot leave without hitting the dessert counter (or the legendary Şengüloğlu right next door, as seen in the packaging). This is the "final boss" of Levantine comfort food in Berlin. The Baklava Plate: Absolute perfection. We tried the variety plate, and you can tell they use high-quality butter and authentic Antep pistachios. The Fıstıklı Dürüm (the green pistachio roll) is incredibly dense and nutty, while the classic flaky squares have that perfect "crunch" without being swimming in over-sugary syrup. It’s balanced, floral, and addictive. The Kunafa (Künefe): Served traditional style in the metal pan—this is a must-order. It arrived warm with a beautiful golden-brown crust of shredded kadayif. The cheese pull was legendary, and the contrast between the hot, salty cheese and the sweet syrup is exactly what you want after a savory meal. Pro Tip: Grab a glass of their hot mint tea to cut through the sweetness. It’s busy, loud, and full of life—exactly how a Middle Eastern dessert spot should be. If you see a queue, wait in it. It moves fast and it’s 100% worth it. Price: Very reasonable for the portion sizes. Vibe: Authentic, bustling, and friendly.

Well-known Syrian restaurant in Sonnennalle. They serve a variety of dishes from shawarma, to chicken, falafel and humus. We tried fatteh there, which was excellent but maybe they put too much ghee in it, so it was super heavy, and we could not finish it. The flavours were spot on though. The service was a bit slow when we went because it was very busy and it was difficult to find a table there. Saying that, this is one of the best restaurants to try Syrian food in that area.

The place is famous for their gigantic group plates. The food is tasty. Their shawarma is different than what surrounding Syrian shops serve. They use different parts of the chicken like the Turkish Gemüse Kebab, it's more oily, and full of pickled/fried veggies. The sandwich costs only 5 Euros and the tea is free. While the staff is friendly, the service is criminally slow. They also use plastic plates. There are a lot of tables inside which can accommodate 4-6 people. Price performance is quite good. If you're in a hurry, skip it. Otherwise sit down and enjoy that tasty shawarma.

Well, the famous Azzam restaurant, one of the best in Berlin. Huge portions, low prices and very very tasty! It is also popular in the local Arabic community, which is a guarantee for the original taste and top quality food. A little Middle-Eastern atmosphere in Berlin.
