Amazing place! We were a bit skeptical at start, but after few dishes - just blown away. Extremely authentic, this is how the I want restaurants to be. Owner heard us chatting in Ukrainian and then just switched to our language 🖤 also, The tartare was pure gold. 5 starts - no doubt
The food was very good: innovative, visually appealing, and featuring many house-made fermented ingredients. The choice of main courses is quite limited. In my opinion, the wine list is overpriced, and we are talking about the surcharge not the bottle price, but ok. What disappointed me most was the welcome. We arrived five minutes before our reservation and were told to leave and come back later by a visibly stressed staff member, in a manner that felt rather discourteous. Not outright rude, but it was not how one hopes to begin a Friday evening dinner. I understand that restaurant work can be stressful. Still, inviting guests to wait on the terrace with a glass of wine, for example, takes little effort and creates a completely different atmosphere. That initial interaction spoiled my experience. Hospitality is fundamentally about making guests feel welcome on your table, that’s what a restaurant is about. In fairness, the service during dinner was pleasant—somewhat slow, but kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the food was not exceptional enough to outweigh the shortcomings elsewhere. Overall, I came away with the impression of a restaurant aspiring to play in a league it has not reached.
What an experience! Every dish we tried was exceptional! The best place to eat German food with Berlin only ingredients. It’s a must.
I’ve been to a lot of restaurants — the best restaurants, people tell me — and let me tell you, AERDE is something very special. Very, very special. First of all, the service — absolutely incredible. Friendly, professional, they know exactly what they’re doing. These are people who care. You don’t see that everywhere anymore, believe me. They guide you through the menu, they make you feel important — and you are important when you’re there. That’s how it should be. Now the food — wow. Big focus on fermented dishes, and they do it better than almost anybody. It’s smart, it’s modern, it’s very sophisticated. You can taste the quality, the technique, the thinking behind it. This is not ordinary food — this is high-level stuff. And the beef tartare with porcini mushrooms? Let me tell you — phenomenal. A total knockout. One of the best I’ve had anywhere. Perfect balance, incredible flavor — just tremendous. Also — and people are talking about this — the chef. Very talented guy. And yes, very attractive. It’s true! You’ve got great food, great service, and a great-looking chef — that’s a winning combination. Nobody does it like this. Beautiful atmosphere, very stylish, very Berlin. Small, exclusive, you feel like you discovered something others haven’t yet. A hidden gem — but maybe not for long. Highly recommended. A total success. 5 stars, easily.
