I recently visited this stunning five-star lobby café, and I have to say, it’s one of the most luxurious hotel lobbies I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by elegance — high ceilings, refined décor, and a beautifully curated atmosphere that feels both grand and serene. The sound of flowing water in the background adds such a calming, almost spa-like touch, making it a perfect place to sit back, relax, and take it all in. Everything about the setting feels thoughtfully designed and impeccably maintained. It’s the kind of place where you could easily spend hours just enjoying the ambiance. That said, the only downside for me was the cappuccino. At €8.50, it felt excessively priced — even by five-star standards. While I understand that luxury venues charge a premium for the experience, this felt more like exploitation than indulgence. For that price, I would expect something truly exceptional, and unfortunately, it didn’t quite justify the cost.
Because the Hotel Adlon looked like the Plaza Hotel from Home Alone from the outside, we were a bit timid about approaching the fancy, good-looking doorman just to get a peek inside. As the female lobby staff later reminded us, you simply need to ask, and we’re so glad we did. The doormen are extremely kind and welcoming, and once inside you enter a truly magnificent hotel, with staff dressed in proper uniforms straight out of a movie. The waiting time for seating in the lounge depends on how long the previous guests stay, some people linger even when there’s a long queue of guests waiting to experience the Adlon lounge. The house coffee, lemon mint water, cheesecake, and the Adlon cake are all highly recommendable. We paid 30€ for two persons. Thank you for the lovely experience for which we came back twice in a row on our 3 day Berlin trip!
