Super cute hidden place in Moabit. Went for the brunch, everything was super tasty, reasonably priced (happy surprise compared to other brunch places) and the staff was very friendly. Quiche Lorraine was soft, flavourful and delicious. Would come again to try their dinner menu.
I wanted to like this place for the story alone. In the end? It's... just fine. The food was competently executed, but I would hardly call it excellent. (Especially given how long we waited for some of it.) My view is that this restaurant gets high marks for being a decent spot in a part of the city that is a bit of a dining "desert." Bluntly; Moabit is not a place to eat good food. I live here. On that comparative local benchmark, this place is good! On the benchmark of Berlin more broadly? It isn't anything special. While the couple running it seem like very kind people, the interior is very... basic, and the service came with a smile, but was not especially attentive. If this were a small bistro serving lunch, I'd say it was cute and unpretentious. But it's positioned and priced as a full service dinner restaurant, and for that, it just doesn't impress.
Best quiche lorraine ever! Bœf bourguignon is a must have! And you'd be a fool to spip the crème brûlée!
