A Kreuzberg gem. Kanal61 is an exemplary gastropub, delivering fine-dining flavor without the fussiness; the bar atmosphere is also affably relaxed. I ate here by myself and my only regret in doing so is that I couldn't order more. The quail and organ-meat grill plate I had was among the best dishes I ate during my trip to Berlin (which included Michelin-starred restaurants). The staff even comped my dessert because I was dining solo. Beautiful food and beautiful people. A marvelous experience. (Also, if they have ice cream on the menu—do not pass it up.)
Fantastic slow food. Pretty unique fusion kitchen, absolutely worth a try. Lovely staff, lovely ambience, we had a great evening. Good mocktails, ....
Just thinking about this experience makes me want to go back there immediately. What a great menu selection of well prepared food and also the wine menu is amazing. We had the best time there with a great service and excellent staff. Can not wait to be back!
We came here for dinner and ordered the endive salad, beef tartare, mussels, gochujang quail, sea bass, steak, and saffron panna cotta. The endive salad was excellent, really bold and well balanced. The gochujang quail was outstanding as well, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The absolute highlight of the evening, though, was the sea bass. It was by far the most convincing dish and truly delicious. Because the quail was so good and the steak came highly recommended, we decided to order the steak as well. Unfortunately, this was a bit disappointing. It was a solid steak, but nothing special and definitely not worth the price, which slightly took away from the overall experience. Dessert was initially forgotten and arrived only after a longer wait. However, the service staff noticed this themselves and kindly offered us a few complimentary drinks as compensation. You could really tell that good service is important to them, which we appreciated a lot. I was also pleasantly surprised by how good the cocktails are, especially the Tonka Old Fashioned, which was excellent. I would definitely come back for the cocktails, salads, and fish.
For me, the best meal of 2025 so far – right here at Kanal61. Went in with no big expectation and it turned into a proper show. Absolutely brilliant food, flavours perfectly dialled in and the presentation was spot on. Lovely staff, nice interior, even the toilets were on point – smelled great, which says a lot.
