Super nice and cozy place, food is delicious and all personal very kind!!! Thank you so much! 🤗🤗
I haven’t had pizza this good in years… I’ve been searching for this quality since I worked a job making pizza at a great napoletana spot in Atlanta GA a few years ago… I did not think I was going to find what I’d been looking for in Berlin, but I’ve been more than pleasantly surprised. Staff are incredibly kind and attentive and the space itself is perfect. Thank you guys so much for a phenomenal first meal in Berlin. I could not recommend this place more.
Oliveto was not only one of the best Italian restaurants I've eaten at during my travels in Berlin, but one of the highlights of my whole trip to the city. For the purposes of this review, I'll separate this brief piece out into the three categories laid out by Google reviews. Food: I only ordered a piccante pizza and a beer, both of which were phenomenal. The pizza featured fresh cheese and spicy salami. Nothing in Berlin is truly "piccante" to my American pallette, but it the salami was perfectly seasoned and featured that smooth texture that is indicative of high grade cured meat. The mozzarella was light, but provided a good counterpoint with its gooey texture and stringy pulls that left me awestruck. The beer, a helles, was perfectly pulled and helped to clear my taste buds between bites. Even if every other category shied from a five star (spoiler alert, they don't), Oliveto would be worth the visit. Service: Talk about kind people! After my meal, the server offered me a shot of espresso on the house as I took my after meal cigarette. In my short experience in Berlin, being offered things on the house is rare, so this small gesture caught me off guard but was welcome. As such, it came as even more of a surprise when a gentleman, a manager or possibly even the owner, offered me a follow-up limoncello shot on the house. It is obvious that they care about their customers here, and that kind of care is rare in any big city. Atmosphere: Rustic Italian, with outdoor and indoor seating. There's a beautiful mural on the wall toward the back of the restaurant featuring the Italian countryside. It's cozy and not too loud--the perfect place to enjoy a meal. In conclusion, definitely stop by if you want good Italian food and happen to find yourself in neue köln. You won't regret it.
Lovely night and delicious food! As main courses, we had the seasonal Tortelli alla Zucca (pumpkin-filled tortelli with parmesan foam, almonds, and sage) and the Paccheri al Ragù di Cinghiale (wild boar ragout with sheep’s cheese). Both were amazing, well-seasoned, balanced, and generously portioned. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu and the chocolate mousse, absolutely delicious. To finish the night we had a bit of Grappa and Limoncello. For the taste and quality, the prices are fair! It is cash only but an ATM is close to the restaurant, right on the other side of the street. The team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We enjoyed the evening and will definitely come back. Thanks for the wonderful food and service, we had a special and unforgettable night at Oliveto!
What a great place! We went for my brother’s birthday and enjoyed it so, so much. The wine, pizzas, salads, and desserts were all incredibly fresh and delicious. The service was absolutely lovely, attentive and friendly. I asked if they had a candle for the dessert so we could sing happy birthday, and they were so helpful. We all ended up singing together! Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the two Italian guys are truly adorable. Highly recommended!
