Barra
Berlin

My dad and I went to Barra last night while in Berlin for vacation, and we had a stellar time. We chose to do the set sharing menu, which I thought was a really great option for people who have a hard time choosing (me). Everything was delicious. Stand-outs were the, gazpacho, melon and cucumber salad, their homemade rye bread which comes on their cheese plate, and the yogurt sorrel granita. Their use of herbs in the food was particularly notable. The best word I can think of to describe the food is VIBRANT. Truly a great meal. The service was also excellent, we had two waiters kind of taking turns helping us, and both were lovely. One of them (who was exceptionally beautiful, by the way...) even recommended a Turkish market to go to the next day, which ended up being a great excursion for our last day in the city. Overall, great food, great service. Will be back when I'm back in the city.
A fantastic experience. I was initially hesitant after reading Google reviews, but all my worries were unfounded. I came to experience it for myself, and they were incredibly professional, providing just the right level of service—meticulous and attentive. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared, and the team was outstanding. Thank you for the hospitality.
In my opinion, one of the hardest things to pull off in a restaurant is serving food that is seemingly simple. Unpretentious dishes like an asparagus salad, veal sweetbreads with potatoes, or fish paired with peas. These are the kinds of meals almost any home cook makes from time to time, and it is incredibly easy for an experience like this to become banal or boring. But when it's done by professionals who truly know their craft—where the sourcing of ingredients is superb, the execution is precise, and every dish is elevated by flawless seasoning and a perfect, complementary sauce—it becomes a meal on an entirely different level. It has been a long time since we’ve enjoyed a "simple meal" this much. An outstanding, highly recommended restaurant; I truly hope to return soon. Honestly, it was better than quite a few Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve dined at.
We had a lovely evening at Barra. We chose the menu and kindly they adapted a bit due to my pregnancy. Unfortunately, the menu didn't start off too strong in our opinion- the burnt (?!) Focaccia, cheese, salad and soup did not convince. Sadly we had to skip both fish dishes which sounded amazing. The main dishes (gnocchi, pasta ragú and guinea-fowl) have been great though. All of the sauces have been divine and the menu left us very full. Dessert was nice. Unfortunately the no-alc options werde mainly sour/acidy (kombucha & co) and not very much for my taste. We loved the staff- thank you! Overall a tasty and very nice experience but considering the price, I've dined a bit better in Berlin.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was really great. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience in Berlin and I would definitely recommend it!
