Stage Theater am Potsdamer Platz - Hinterm Horizon - Berlin

Hinterm Horizon (Behind the Horizon) is a sensational combination of theatre, rock music, dance, and history. The events shortly before the fall of the Berlin Wall are told in a highly emotional way, with Udo Lindenberg's lyrics giving a particularly strong depth to the story. It's a love story, a history lesson, and a collection of outstanding rock music and dance numbers all in one spectacular evening.

Udo Lindenberg was successful in gaining permission to sing in the GDR in the early 1980's despite his status as a West German. Along the way, he fell in love with an East German girl, and the pair struggled with an uncertain future of separation and seemingly permanent division.

The musical is performed in German, but English-speakers needn't worry about understanding: there are now LED displays positioned around the stage so that you can follow the songs and dialogues in your mother tounge.
