Humboldt-Institut
Established in 1977, the Humboldt-Institut opened their Berlin campus in 2014 where it offers a number of different course options as well as on-campus accommodation. Their main offering is their intensive course, which comprises 30 lessons per week, with rapid progression through the levels from A1 to C2. At the Humboldt-Institut, there are no hidden prices for registration fees or course materials. One of the school's highlights is their rooftop terrace, where they hold regular BBQs during the summer months.
Classes
With 30 lessons per week and with average class sizes of 10 students, this is arguably the most comprehensive language course offered in Berlin, with the majority of other schools offering between 15 and 20 lessons per week. Due to this increased class time, progression through the various language levels is much quicker than at other Berlin language schools. Levels A1, A2 and B1 can be completed in a total of 15 weeks, compared to the 24 weeks it would take at the majority of language schools in Berlin.
Each course can also be booked as a complete package including accommodation, full board, course materials, cultural program, and excursions so that the student can learn as much as possible about the German language, culture, and daily life.
In addition to their intensive courses, there are also other options available including part-time, evenings and weekend courses.
There is a comprehensive test at the end of each level, as well as regular smaller tests, allowing you and your teacher to monitor your progress.
