Description
On this tour, you will discover the turbulent history of the former Tempelhof Airport – from its monumental origins in the Nazi era to the world-famous Berlin Airlift, when planes landed here daily to supply West Berlin.
We meet directly in front of the southwest entrance to the former airport grounds on Tempelhofer Damm and embark on an exciting and informative walk through the area. Our tour ends on the exact opposite side of Tempelhofer Feld, at the Allmende-Kontor community garden (Oderstraße entrance). Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the ambience of the recreational area.
This tour combines great history with current issues and invites you to experience Berlin from a new perspective – open, lively, and surprising.
Ideal for those who not only want to see Berlin, but also want to understand it.
