International competition. Perspective Russia. Focus Berlin
The imaginary worlds of poetry meet the audiovisual possibilities of the short film: The poetry film combines two different genres of art into a new, dynamic genre.
Launched in 2002 by the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin, today Haus für Poesie, the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival is still the world's largest platform for poetry film. At this year's ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival Münster / Berlin, 66 international films competed for the favour of the juries and the audience in Münster at the end of September. Now the films from the International, the German-speaking as well as the ZEBRINO competition for children and adolescents will also be shown in Berlin. In addition, the festival presents a selection of poetry films of the latest generation from the Hochschule Düsseldorf - HSD and the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln. A colloquium on the state of poetry film in Germany using the example of North Rhine-Westphalia complements the program. With a silent film program, the pioneers of the poetry film, such as Man Ray, looked. Another focus is on Russian films. Poets from Russia present their latest works in readings. For three days, the House of Poetry in Cinema at the KulturBrauerei will present the best the poetry film has to offer.
