With Berthold Adolfsson (1911-2004), the gallery Mutter Fourage is dedicated to a painter from the Gothenburg coloristerna, which was comparable to German Expressionist associations of the time.
Adolfsson studied from 1933 at the Academy of Arts in Gothenburg with Professors Sigfrid Ullmann and Nils Nilsson. These two painters belonged to the circle of artists of the 'Café du Dôme' around the turn of the century in Paris and were pupils of Henri Matisse. The paintings by Berthold Adolfsson are characterized by color explosions with lyrical echoes. With more than 50 works, the exhibition presents a cross-section of more than 70 years of artistic creation.
Entrance is free, but booking are encouraged on 030-805 23 11.
