The hostel would have to be classed a bit more of a community accommodationn than your average city hostel. Even though it may feel as though you are out in the bush it's just three tram stations from the station at Landsberger Allee and is twenty minutes from Alexanderplatz - making it a perfect and accessible cheap destination.
They have a large yard, a well-maintained garden, two double rooms, a small group room and a large group room in the attic. You can even rent a caravan and there is also space for three tents in the garden. Sandino is even home to a few chickens, an apple tree and a vegetable garden - giving you a real feel of rural living.
You can relax by sunbathing and play table tennis or table football, rent bike or cook in the communal kitchen. In the evenings they hold barbeques and supply their increasingly famous home-made pancakes!
